They’re enormously popular right now—a lot of my students are wearing khaffiyehs in shades of purple and pink around their necks.

Don’t khaffiyehs worn by “Palestinians” typically have a distinctive “net” design on them ….Black or green on white… look like checkers or a hounds tooth pattern from a distance.

I do see a lot of scarves worn now days, but most don’t have that pattern or color.
