What’s the latest on Iran? I know the Basiji are reported to have fired on and killed at least one protester. The Guard supposedly controls the Basiji and Supreme Commander Khamenei controls the Guard, at least constitutionally, but the Guard is said to be loyal to Ahmadinejad and the Basiji are fanatics loyal to Khamenei, or at least the council. Who is really responsible for this escalation of violence? It could have just been poor discipline from the troops on the ground, it was also reported that a Basiji building was being burned. Any one heard anything else?
