re: #517 Slumbering Behemoth

Back in the day…

I knew a dude who bought a large gun safe. The delivers wanted to take it out of it’s cardboard box in order to haul it into his house. He said “No, leave it in the cardboard”.

Hours later, at the bar, a vague acquaintance says “You had a refrigerator delivered today?”

“Yep, the old one crapped out”.

The guy was a bit of a nut, but loose lips still sink ships. And potential burglars love to hear about all the neat stuff you have, and all the particulars of your work schedule.

Guns are only scary when they are in someone’s hands. When they’re in an empty house, they’re just like free money to some folk.

Loose lips. Not even my closest friends know what I do or do not have going on. I’m saving all my secrets for the zombie apocalypse.

Same here. When I bought one of those nifty A-bombs in a Samsonite suitcase that the good people over in the former USSR had developed, I told everyone that it was just a new suitcase and not a nucear weapon I was able to purchase on the black market.

And there she is, sitting right in my closet, waiting for someone to make my day.
