I’m wondering if this will trigger a national shift in our attitude towards privacy and municipal cameras. We have always resisted following the London model where the average Londoner is on camera all day. I’ve always been uncomfortable with that level of public surveillance, but I wouldn’t blame anyone for thinking it could be an option given the havoc that can be unleashed in an urban area by a single person with a powerful weapon.
