Here’s my opinion (as a non-Catholic).

Yesterday was listening to a talk radio show and callers were saying (and the host was agreeing) that this is about getting Catholics to shut down charity care, schools, and Hospitals and leaving more room open for Obamacare. And eventually, removing thereligion from all things America.

This language is as helpful as shouting “priests are predators”.

Both “speak” is just not helpful to the conversation and is a strawman in both instances.

I still have a big First Amendment problem with this. “Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof”, these two ideas are on a clash course with each other.

But I don’t have nearly the brains to settle it.

I find it interesting that this postulates that the Catholic Church will completely shut-down charity, schools, and hospitals instead of offering their employees the opportunity to use healthcare insurance to get contraception.

This is “cutting off your nose to spite your face” territory.
