I know what you mean. Sadly, I’ve observed that it’s only the assholes who seem to be able to get through the bullshit. (which seems backwards, haha).

I might posit that’s because all the reasonable people get sick of the shit and go home.

Which leaves the assholes to derp it out into the competition of “who can be the bigger asshole”. This may explain much of our current government, come to think of it. Of course, the downside is that you then have a government where policy is decided by assholes and nothing gets done.
