York’s tweet is inaccurate of course. Obama has clearly stated that he opposes taking rights away once they’ve been granted by individual states. In other words, in states that have SSM he thinks the law should stay as it is. He clearly has no problem with SSM, even if he hasn’t given a full throated endorsement that it should apply nationally now. Which is why he opposed Prop. 8 in the first place.
