re: #482 Obdicut

May I remind you of a little thing called the slave trade, which made a human sacrifice of millions upon millions of human beings?

And is slavery something unique to Christian and Muslim cultures? The Aztec Empire took a lot of slaves. The Soviets and the Maoists made their whole countries slave labor camps, with special lower circles of hell called gulags and laogai.

The fact that great evil was part of the story of Brazil, the U.S., and centuries before that, Iraq, does not catapult any of those societies to the top ranks of evil. It wasn’t the only thing happening, and the good must be weighed mixed in with the bad.

Or do you put the U.S. at the top, as the most evil nation ever to have existed? Or maybe Brazil, or maybe Iraq? Or Portugal?
