In that case there were half a dozen county employees that was sleeping with that woman. Everyone was fired. If the police chief believes the cop should be fired (which is a rarity) then it should be his prerogative to fire someone whose detrimental to his force.

Factually, there are two ways this could have happened:

1> He was boning her during work hours, or
2> he was boning her on his own time.

I assume that you would agree that if it was 2, then he might be a dick, but he doesn’t get fired. If it was 1, he should go.

So this is a question of fact. On that question of fact, they held a hearing, called witnesses, looked at evidence, and found that the evidence in favor of 1 was unpersuasive.

So you don’t get to rewrite the record in order to register disapproval. The boss didn’t have the goods. He doesn’t get to fire the guy just because. That is the essence of due process. Sometimes people have rights.
