That may be, but a lot of folks who adhere to a Wahabbist/Salafist mindset will dismiss the Ottomans because - quite bluntly - they weren’t Arabs.

One thing I’ve noticed with their mentality is a strong degree of ethnocentrism - they’re suspicious of folks like me as well. You know…..only Arabs can be true Muslims, that kind of crap.

Completely blowing off the fact that Islam is a universal religion.
