Do you seriously believe that ACORN was a major cause of the mortgage market collapse?

A wingnut talking point is that the mortgage market collapse was all about giving mortgages to shiftless brown people who defaulted. Hence it’s the fault of organisations that helped minorities get mortgages or provided legal assistance to them.

An astonishingly high number of people seem to believe this. Not quite sure what the ACORN connection is supposed to be, exactly…
