They’d better. This is not looking good for Airbus.

A talking head yesterday said that the plane that went down was a sister ship to Boeing’s 777. I bet they crapped their drawers at Boeing when they heard that!

That’s like saying a Mercedes is a sister car to a Lexus.

In this case, both airliners (777 and Airbus 330) are similar size, two engine, somewhat long range aircraft.
But there are differences in design philosophy, and certainly many in the design itself.
