A poll came out yesterday (forgot where) that said nearly 80% understand that ‘defund the police’ does not mean what Trump is trying to make it mean. With a majority of Republicans, to boot.

I don’t even think to many Democrats are even using that phrase, TBH.

And I don’t see how slacking off on crime now proves anything about how crime will escalate in a Biden administration, though. It only shows that crime is going up now - under a Republican administration.

Them “slacking off on crime” is a scare tactic. And a reminder that they are special little snowflakes that should all probably be fired since they can’t do their jobs within the scope of the law and general decency without being constantly fawned over.

But the whole idea of an investigative slow down is basically play acting the Col Jessip monologue about us needing them on that wall. It’s bullshit, of course. Because mostly what is happening what always happens, they show up, they take a report and say they’ll “investigate” it but they won’t have any actual leads, so unless it’s a murder or some such other crime that catches the attention of local or national news, it’ll get filed away until someone requests a copy of the report for their insurance.
