It makes the planet worse because the Chinese and the Indians are vastly less green than even we are and those sweatshops and the coal and oil plants that power them are hideous polluters. Of course we (as in the U.S. and Europe) have funded that industry, and we continue to make it expand by buying stuff from sweatshops.

Are you suggesting that we cut off the market to India and/or China because they pollute too much? That would destroy their economies though. Perhaps we should sell them or give them green technology? I always shudder when I hear someone tell a 3rd World person they are better off living in a mud hut with no water or electricity because it’s better for the planet. It’s not better for them or their children.
