Boy it seems like the Eagles are the new Bengals, with a very poor “talent to results” ratio. They’ve dug themselves a deep hole.

Well the Bengals are currently looking good record-wise. Whether this is legit or simply the standard Bungles behind a facade will become clear in the next month or so since Cincy gets to play both Pittsburgh and Baltimore twice still.

The Eagles are suffering from trying to do too much in a shortened training off-season, and also in my opinion falling prey to the “we can outscore anyone we play” bug-a-boo which in my opinion rarely works as a team strategy in the NFL in terms of winning championships. It will get you into the playoffs, but tends to fail after that point. And I’ve heard their defense described as “good D-line, good secondary, surrounding a black hole at linebacker”.
