I live in Texas and it requires state ID and then a background check…can have gun in 10 minutes.

I know at Bass pro shop you can try out bows, and rods and reels …just wondered if they did that for guns….my main thing is I want a gun that is stronger than a .22 but not huge and cumbersome with a lot of recoil…it needs to be small enough to carry in purse.

Any reputable gun shop will assist in finding the right weapon for you. I would advise you to find one that offers a the NRA First Steps Pistol Orientation class. It only takes a couple of hours but you’ll be much more comfortable handling your weapon.
