drawing blood is pretty invasive. i am not a lawyer but i would imagine that kind of thing would be fought tooth & nail by a defense attorney and would have to be authorized by the court. forgive my imprecise terminology but i am sure it is part of the ‘innocent until proven guilty’ safeguards that prevent entrapment etc. in this situation it is conceivable it might inform investigators as to the mental state of mr. Z but in general collecting and interpreting that sort of info in legal situations could be abused by the prosecutor without standards of permission etc.

See post 541, you can get a toxicology report done on you for driving funny, if that’s the case then I fail to see how you don’t end up getting one for killing somebody.
