I have to admit I voted against Mondale - not for Reagan but against Mondale. For me it was a single issue protest vote. Mondale lead the gutting of NASA in the 70’s and I still can not forgive him that. He crippled our future with that.

Yeah you’ve talked about that before. I was just pointing out that the white working class voters who Bernie bemoans are no long part of our coalition voted for Reagan over Mondale who did talk about their issues a lot. As I said, I think being in Vermont all these years has made Bernie tone deaf to the reality of the landscape. Not all these working class voters are bigots mind you but Bernie again wants to ignore that a lot of their hostility to us is because of our multiculturalism and as the Uncle of a Hispanic child, I have no desire to make nice with people who see my Hispanic extended family as “taking away their jobs.”
