Isn’t this kind of treatment address in the canon of ethics? Does the medical profession have a canon of ethics beyond the Hippocratic Oath?

Practically speaking, the medical profession’s so-called ‘ethics’ seems (regrettably) to be more aligned with that of the pharmaceutical companies, than with their own patients. The doctors trade union (AMA) seems to be quite adept at sticking up for its members, just like any other trade union. Follow the money — it’s only business.
