The pro-life/anti-choice thing is fairly new among libertarians. I think it started when conservatives started to bail on the GOP in the late aughts and started calling themselves “libertarians”. When I was more attuned to the conservative and libertarian movements the libertarian position was either pro-choice or at the most “I’m don’t like it but it’s not my business.” Of course, most were generally opposed to the government funding pretty much anything - so they’d probably be on board with the “defund” angle.
