The current moratorium hasn’t had the economic impact drill-baby-drillers were fantasizing about. Crappy safety standards and adherence to rules are a greater danger to the oil industry than President Obama is (though I know that’s not what you were implying).

Absolutely they need to get the safety stuff right. Absolutely.
But this well wasn’t drilling, and it doesn’t appear it was even producing anything.
I’m sure by this afternoon we’ll know what happened and why.
