Cal didn’t say much. His wife was sick and couldn’t go to church with him one Sunday. When he returned, Mrs. Coolidge asked “What did the preacher speak on?”

“Sin,” was all Calvin would say. Exasperated, his wife asked. “Well what did he have to say about it?”

“I believe he was against it.”
