A majority of churches don’t tend to like teh gayze getting their societal rights on. Opposition to gay marriage cuts across racial lines.

And I am aware of the history of the LDS and the catholic churches.

There are those that do very much, or, (rightly or wrongly) don’t feel it’s their issue. The loudest screamers against it are invariably white Evangelical churches.

I would just read up more on Black denominations, which in some ways have been a pillar of the “liberal” vote, as long as we’ve even had a vote. Same for Black civil rights leaders (aside from the infamous “Coretta Scott King”) and pastors who came out for gay civil rights.
