But we’re not adhereing to “A” countries customs, we’re talking about “A” Religious one, whose customs are the same no matter WHAT country it’s being practiced in!

The state, and in this case the police authroities who represent it, should be neutral when it comes to religion. Not hostile and certainly not subservient. Just neutral.
