One thing I really liked about “Band Of Brothers” was the *PLING* sound after 8 rounds from the M1s - *BANG-BANG-BANG-BANG-BANG-BANG-BANG-BANG/PLING*

The distinctive metallic noise of an ejecting Garand clip. There were rumors the Germans grew to recognize the sound and timed their attacks for when the American rifles were empty, but I don’t think there is any substantive evidence to support it. It was, however, taken seriously enough that the Springfield Armory started experiments with plastic disposable Garand clips.
