I guess I have been awol from my Twitter account. The question is, how do people hack these things?

Yeah, I guess I just don’t know how. Using a Mac I don’t run any of those continual stream of fake .exe applications, and so forth, and I don’t use Twitter to comment on other sites. Perhaps I did once and forget it and someone hacked into some newspaper site somewhere on which long ago I left a comment.

Well, part of the question is how secure the password is too. Most of us don’t have very good password practices (I include myself in this list) and cracking passwords has become much easier with the ability to apply GPU cycles to it. I mean, they know the log-in name - that’s the account name. So they just have to figure out the password, and I don’t know what Twitter’s security measures surrounding multiple attempts is.
