re: #55 Anymouse
We have an agricultural newspaper here that is delivered to everyone twice a week.
I was reading it and there was a letter from a sixteen year-old girl arguing that even if CO2 was rising in the atmosphere, that would be a good thing, because plants like CO2.
I don’t normally publicly go after teenagers (I’d done it one time before several years ago on a girl who wrote our local paper bashing atheists), but I went after her, sticking only to facts (no personal attacks).
Unsurprisingly, the agricultural paper declined to publish my letter, though they did give a reason: I’m not a farmer, so they would not publish my letter. (Gaaa. Whether I was right or not didn’t matter, only that I wasn’t a farmer.)
Start a garden. Then you’ll be a small-scale farmer. Grow some kind of heirloom vegetables and you’ll be small-scale heritage farmer, growing for a niche market.
