You asked or quoted someone who asked “If a bunch of middle-schoolers can handle it why can’t a seasoned Congressperson?” and the answer is simple; most folks have never even written their congresscritters or e-mailed ‘em, and so asking them questions during town hall discussions is new to Americans.
It’s one of the reasons why I wish there had been the dozen or so town hall meetings between Obama and McCain that McCain had suggested - would have helped everyone prepare for what’s going on now!
