i think people do eat them. they are herbivores, under all those quills and make a good stew. what a rough way to get a meal, tho. imagine cleaning a porcupine.
a lot more trouble than a chicken. or a squirrel.

English Romany are fond of hedgehogs for cooking—they’re considered ‘clean’ animals under their system, and can be easily hunted on the road.

I think a porcupine would be pure hell to skin, though.
