re: #558 chunkymonkey

Good point, I will clarify. I think abortion should be 100% legal in the USA.

And if you re: #562 chunkymonkey

Damn formatting errors! Let me try that again

My point is that the original post showed an image that depicts the invasiveness of the sonogram procedure in order to invoke an emotional response. The actual abortion procedure is even more invasive. Showing pictures of things like this in order to invoke an emotional response is the anti-abortion movement’s method of choice for getting their point across and I don’t like it. The fact that the sonogram procedure is FORCED is enough for me to be against it.

Look, I really want to take your statements as all being genuine, but it’s really hard for me to do so when you start making those types of arguments. First off, most abortions aren’t nearly as invasive as you seem to be making them out to be and they are far less invasive than many other common medical procedures.

Second, when the target of attack is under attack, in part, because it’s a physically and emotionally invasive act forced on a woman against her will, uh, it’s hard not to involve emotion in that. It’s at the very heart of the issue.

Finally, all that aside, the way to fix an argument that’s overly emotional isn’t to make it even more emotional in some bizarre concept of balance. That’s ridiculous.
