From a reporter friend of mine (paraphrasing): “You can always judge a journalist by the shoes he or she is wearing. Good reporters wear shoes that are useful in field work. Like sneakers or boots. Dress shoes or sandals means the reporter never actually goes anywhere and just sits behind a desk all day.”

Who ever said anything about them being good reporters? Just some flotilla fool who wants a photo of all the action.
