My Boston cousins got angry at Kerry prior to the election in 2004. He missed some votes, I think because of campaigning. I thought it was a pretty harsh assessment, considering that’s what usually happens with senators when they run for office. Not that it’s a good thing, but it is what it is.

Actually, another good reason that there should be campaign time limits. You cannot campaign no more than 6 months prior to an election, or less even.
