OH HAI! I am offline for 2 days & everything has gone to feces.

My Whirlpool dryer (which I have had for 30 years) has a busted starter. Should I call the appliance service to fix the starter or buy a new dryer? I guess that depends on if a new starter costs as much/more than a new dryer.
