When you are the person facing a 9 month to 18 year responsibility, I would have to agree that the “burden” of contraception falls on the woman.

Well, one reason for the failure to develop more forms of birth control for men is that women doubt they can trust men to use them. It’s easy enough for women to miss taking a pill or make another mistake; men don’t have the same personal incentive to prevent pregnancy because ultimately it isn’t their body that gets pregnant.
