I’m not arguing that people should wait until the last minute, but it is human nature to procrastinate and wait until deadlines to act - like voting. The advertising is geared to that - and so is the campaigning.

This is true, but trivial. So can reporting on polling. I fail to see why this is something to get ones dander up, except in the case where the results are not favorable to the party one supports.

True but trivial? That’s an assertion - not an argument. How about some facts to back that one up.

If you’re looking at fairness in elections and avoiding distorting election outcomes, you would want the same effect in play regardless of who’s ahead or not (which is to say preventing information like exit polling or snapshots of voters from affecting the outcome).
