So I’m sitting here staring into the screen, thinking about what explanations there could be for the strange actions, and even more strange stories, surrounding this Governor Sanford. Gradually, I lose focus on the screen as I read less and think harder. Then somewhere between my face and the screen, a matchbox-sized object materializes, and as I recognize it for what it is, tiny double doors bang open, propelled by a tiny blue bird no larger than my thumb, screeching CUCKOO! like a nearby thunderclap on a clear day.
The bird is gone, the echo fades, the explanation is here to stay.
