The 70% black vote opposed number - which I didn’t know had been revised down - was initially a credible number (see voluminous coverage it recieved).

And I’m not sure I said that the black vote was entirely responsible for the failure of Gay Marriage in California…if I gave that impression I’m sorry, it is not my belief.

And I apologize for being less careful with my statements then I should have been. If I came off as saying that you specifically were blaming them for the passage of Prop 8, then I apologize for that, as well. This is one of the many issues for me where I’m on a bit of a hair trigger, having seen people roll it out so many times to use it as an attack on the Black community in California.

I understand that you were speaking in good faith based on what you’ve seen and heard that seemed reliable, which is all that can really be asked.
