The idiots on Twitter are saying “every vote counts”, but that is demonstrably not true of caucuses like this one. Romney and Santorum will each end up with probably 6 delegates from Iowa regardless of the final count.

And, Romney will likely maneuver the officially “unpledged” RNC delegates into his corner regardless of the outcome.

I don’t think it’ll be quite that easy, after all, the precinct delegates aren’t bound to vote for their pledged candidate, which implies that any precinct delegates pledged to Bachmann or Perry would be free to put their support behind someone like Santorum.

Doesn’t mean that’ll happen, but you never know.

Interestingly enough According to politico, there are 7 precincts still outstanding, one Kossuth, Clayton, Tama, Clinton, Appanoose, Van Buren, and Lee Counties. All of whom leaned more towards Santorum over Romney, except for Clinton county, which leaned Romney.
