The flip side of Police having only a few seconds to make the right call is they better make the right fucking call or be prepared to face the consequences for shooting a kid with a toy gun, not be given a pass.

But could they have reasonably deduced it was not a real gun? As I recall, this incident went down at night, and it can be quite hard to determine such things in the dark when under severe stress.
