Watching the first episode of Season 4 of The Man in the High Castle possibly has me in a strident mood.
I am not much of a TV critic, but I will try to share my impressions.
It is absolutely a tour de force, a visionary and brilliantly realized interpretation of one of the great works of speculative fiction.
The details are mind-boggling, including things that 99.9% of the audience would not realize are completely authentic. For instance, the VTOL transport plane that Reichsfuhrer John Smith uses is based on a real German project of the 1960s, the Dornier Do-31.
Most importantly, it takes place in another world 56 years in the past, yet it could not be more topical. Dedicated people all over the world rise up in a desperate battle against fascism. We are there now.
