I sometimes think about how badly Bill Clinton screwed the country over because he couldn’t keep his pants zipped. No Lewinsky scandal, Gore would probably have been elected President in 2000, and Hillary probably would’ve won in 2016. Of course lots of the hypocritical Republicans who impeached him were screwing around as well.

Clinton was the first president required to keep his pants on.

Seriously, though, the affair didn’t do Gore in by itself. The relentless investigations of crap by the GOP did what it was meant to do: Wear the country down. It’s also partially why Hillary didn’t get enough votes in certain areas 16 years later.
