Were there always this many crazy people or has the internet made it worse?

The internet means that people with a big internet footprint can collect more wackos tagging around after them than those of us who have anonymity of sorts on the internet.

The wackos are out there in the real world too, and they are dangerous there too. Witness Mrs. Professor Spurned Bishop. Anyone with responsibilities for making work or school evaluations that may have to be negative is likely to run up against a reprisal threat sooner or later. It seems to go with the territory.

Civilization would collapse if we all just gave in and tucked tail. Aux barricades, citoyens. The wackos are few, and we are many. Almost all of us will come out of it just fine. We win, they lose.
