How to Get Banned From LGF

Blogosphere • Views: 6,688

Normally, I’d just ignore this kind of nonsense, but the Hypocrisy Quotient is so high in this case that it deserves a post.

Here’s yet another rant by yet another disgruntled blogger whining about being blocked from LGF (Google cache link): Charles Foster Johnson extends his Blogger McCarthyism to me | Political Byline.

If you read his nearly incoherent post, you’ll discover that according to “Patrick,” I blocked him for no reason at all. Out of sheer evilness. I’m just like Joe McCarthy. (Except that people like this usually support Joe McCarthy, so go figure.)

Was it my evil McCarthyesque madness that caused me to block this guy? Well, sure, I’m evil and all that, but in this case the answer is “no.” Here’s the real reason.

Last night when I linked to Richard Metzger’s Dangerous Minds interview with me, “Patrick” showed up there and posted this comment:

Pat
Location: Up yer ass

————

Charles Johnson is a fag.

That is all.

My glock calls his name….

In case you didn’t know, Glock is a gun manufacturer. Yep, that’s a homophobic insult and a death threat. A two-fer!

How do I know this was the hate-filled moron who posted the rant I linked above? Because Richard Metzger forwarded his IP address to me. When I discovered that this IP address had been hanging around LGF all day, I decided to add it to my htaccess deny list.

And Patrick then posted a series of obscene comments on Twitter, and the rant linked above — confirming beyond any doubt that he was the one who posted the hateful comment at Dangerous Minds.

Note to “Patrick” — seek psychological help. You’re not well.

I’d say there’s even something cowardly about saying ‘my glock calls his name’. It’s externalizing it.

Come on, Pat, we know that you want to say you want to kill him, so why not have the balls to say it?

Also: I don’t think Charles is gay, since he just got engaged. But if he was, it wouldn’t change my appreciation for what he does one goddamn whit.

What I don’t get is why does the guy keep using your middle name throughout the post?

Who does he think he is a parent/teacher calling out their child/student?

I’d say Patrick now has a hobby to keep himself busy for the next 5 years — that as another psychotic LGF stalker. Which reminds me of recently minted “Alex Jones/Faux News” flouncer, Scorpius.

The stronger the rhetoric (or in this case cave painting) the weaker the minds. Typical for these anti-social psychopaths.

For Charles? I’m 99.9% percent sure that he revealed he was engaged awhile back, but I keep being paranoid that I’m wrong because so many people seem to not know. I think he’s just keeping a low profile on it, which I’m screwing up, so I should probably stop mentioning it.

Were there always this many crazy people or has the internet made it worse?

The internet means that people with a big internet footprint can collect more wackos tagging around after them than those of us who have anonymity of sorts on the internet.

The wackos are out there in the real world too, and they are dangerous there too. Witness Mrs. Professor Spurned Bishop. Anyone with responsibilities for making work or school evaluations that may have to be negative is likely to run up against a reprisal threat sooner or later. It seems to go with the territory.

Civilization would collapse if we all just gave in and tucked tail. Aux barricades, citoyens. The wackos are few, and we are many. Almost all of us will come out of it just fine. We win, they lose.

Virginia AG To State Colleges: Scrap Protections For Gay Workers

The administration of Virginia governor Bob McDonnell is doubling down on its anti-gay reputation, telling the state’s colleges and universities to scrap policies that ban discrimination against gay employees.

In a letter to the state’s institutions of higher learning, Attorney General Ken Cuccinelli argues that the schools lack the legal authority to ban anti-gay discrimination, because only the state legislature can do so, the Washington Post reported over the weekend. That’s a step that the GOP-controlled legislature recently declined to take.

Last month, McDonnell, a socially conservative Republican, rescinded an executive order, promulgated by the previous governor, Democrat Tim Kaine, that prohibited discrimination against gay state workers….

Palin On Her Palm Notes: God Did It Too (VIDEO)

When Sarah Palin wrote a few notes on her hand during her speech to a tea party convention last month, she was ridiculed by bloggers, comedians and White House Press Secretary Robert Gibbs. This weekend, she defended the notes at an Ohio pro-life fund-raiser, saying she was in good company.

A fan, she said, had sent her a biblical passage. Isaiah 49:16 reads: “See, I have engraved you on the palms of my hands; your walls are ever before me.”

“Hey, if it was good enough for God, scribbling on the palm of his hand, it’s good enough for me, for us. He says, in that passage he says, I wrote your name on the palm of my hand to remember you. And I’m like OK, I’m in good company,” Palin said to laughter.

During her tea party convention speech, Palin had dismissed President Obama as a “charismatic guy with a teleprompter.”

Palin: While Growing Up, My Family Would Seek Health Care In Canada

Sarah Palin spoke to an audience in Alberta, Canada, over the weekend. Interestingly enough, she claimed that while growing up, her own family would seek out health care in Canada — a country with a single-payer health care system.

Palin has attacked President Obama and the Democrats for their health care proposals, warning that they would result in a government-run system and create “death panels” that would condemn the unfit to die from a lack of health care.

The Canadian Press reports:

The vocal opponent of health care reform in the U.S. steered largely clear of the topic except to reveal a tidbit about her life growing up not far from Whitehorse.

“We used to hustle over the border for health care we received in Canada,” she said. “And I think now, isn’t that ironic.”

My favorite memories of playing Video games was in the 80’s going to this English pub in Alameda over looking the bay at SF and playing games sitting down at tables.. Joust rocked!

USO in Camp Scwabb in the late 90s had Space Lords, one of my all time favorite games.

Yeah, those were the days — video games in the table, beer and steak bits… mmmmm

Not trying to justify or criticise any decisions made about someone who made a post like that…anywhere…clearly the “I will do anything I can get away with syndrome” going on…

…but isn’t blocking the IP address a largely empty gesture? That’s not going to stop him from reading the site. It’s cached and it’s easy enough to get a new IP address. I can see deleting his account of course…

I guess, in general, my question would be - what really is gained in the end from adding that line to deny access in the web server file? Maybe I am underestimating what effect it will actually have?

goes back to the question of whether a square pizza is still a ‘pizza pie’.

Up here in the Great White North, it’s called a “party pizza” with the stupid little square pieces.

I miss SF…

re: #63 Aceofwhat?

I still play fighting games actually, altho’ the arcades are too damn expensive now. I’m getting a custom stick done, but WUB is damn slow with the artwork (in fairness if he reads this, the guy doing the actual conversoin is being slow too)

yeah, it’s not the same. SF2 and SF2 champion’s were my main geek focus in the arcade…~90 minutes without a loss to a second player is my record.

now…like i’ve said too many times already…give me Mass Effect 2 any day…

It’s a amazing she and her family survived.

Brave people to venture like that into a den of socialist commie pinko vice and inequity.

the Super version of SF4 is coming out in a month or so, it’ll be cheap, and might be worth it for the nostalgia value (altho it SUCKS to play fighters without a stick)

Yeah, the waiting line must have been enormous.

Makes you wonder the what ifs. What would have happened if her family didn’t have that alternative.

Yep…I figured you enjoyed this little war the right has declared against you. I hope they drive enough traffic to see your vile site that your ad revenue goes up considerably…might as well profit from their lunacy.

Seeeriously.

I’ll pass on the purchase of the stick for nostalgia purposes…

Dunno.

I was thinking of her age and the time frame she’s talking about and there’s a pretty good chance that my own family was in Whitehorse at the same general time. Not that I can remember much about the specifics of the healthcare system. All I remember is the lollipops that our doctor used to give me.

I am curious …. Does just visiting a site without ad blocking software installed give the site owner Ad revenue , or do you actually have to click through to the Ads the site hosts ?

The article in last thread states that. Just viewing the ad in most cases gets the site owner some revenue.

Charles, for the record,

You have every right to not want abusive, homophobic, death threats on your blog, or the people that post them.

It amuses me that part of the psychology of the screen beret is to never accept the even remote possibility that they got banned for being an utterly repugnant asshole and that they deserved it.

Quite simply I think politicians like Bob McDonnell avoid the topics during their campaigns. This is usually regarding gay issues or abortion issues. Once elected and in office they show their true colors.

You wouldn’t even have known McDonnell was a Republican candidate if all you saw was TV ads. The word was never mentioned. Lots of family stuff and jobs for Virginians.
