Try to distinguish car colors next time you are out driving at night or day. It’s not so easy to distinquish similar colors/hues of neutral tones. Teal or Orange is easier in the day, but a Black, gray, beige even red can be very difficult, especially at night.

Okay, let’s assume for arguments sake that everything looked grey for some reason, God hit the desaturate filter on the giant Photoshop layer that is life. That still doesn’t explain the police failing to notice the different makes and model, and it especially doesn’t justify their complete failure to read and match the two license plates before opening fire on the occupants without warning.
