re: #581 Targetpractice, Worst of Both Worlds

Except so long as that tank/helicopter/rifle is in service, you got people working to produce more, to produce replacement parts, to repair them, and work on further upgrades or replacements. Even if all they’re doing is sitting around, waiting on a war to break out, money is still going into maintaining them for when “war were declared.”

Yes it is.

The question is, if we were to spend the money. If we spent it on stuff like roads and bridges at home, would the end result for the country be greater good between the money we pay the people to build it and the use we get out of it be of greater good to America then what we get out of a tank or helicopter.

A tank or helicopter does no good to America unless we’re in a war and its in use, even if the process of building it is still good for America in that “paying people to dig a ditch” kind of way.
