Well, those pensions did end up being grossly inflated by public sector unions in the end. While they started off as a good thing, the unions in question focused only on “getting more” and the results have been disastrous. The former home of Mare Island, Vallejo CA, had to declare bankruptcy to get out of its impossible pension and retirement obligations. So don’t go acting like the public sector unions are innocent, because they sure as Hell aren’t.

But this is not really the issue. Public sector employers in Wisconsin, for example, were willing to take some financial hits, but that wasn’t good enough.
Walker and his cronies wanted to take away all their rights.
