You mean by starting the pattern of unsustainable deficit spending that was Republican economic dogma through three administration and is now contributing to the current economic crisis?

For all the critisisim that liberals get for being “tax and spend,” “borrow and spend” is worse. I favor a balanced budget even if it means a 40% across the board tax rate.

Maybe you didn’t notice that Reagan’s tax cuts hugely increased tax payments to the treasury. You blame Reagan for spending into deficit?
