re: #595 BongCrodny

I read “The Road” on a flight back from Las Vegas, and was back on the East Coast before I realized it. Lent it to a friend who also read it in a day.

Asked him if he liked it, and he said he couldn’t put the damn thing down — but he wasn’t certain whether he liked it or not.

A tremendously disturbing book. I confess I’m a bit afraid to watch the movie version.

I read the novel first and then saw the movie before it disappeared from theaters here. The book was more graphic than the movie, but the movie really drove the point home about just how far humanity had fallen.

What’s your take on what caused the world-wide catastrophe?
