I’m 66 and live in Fairfax County, Virginia.

Fairfax County, Va has something over 1 million inhabitants. It has almost 200,000 on the waiting list.

The County Health Department opened 1c the day Azar announced that HHS was releasing its extra stocks of vaccine. But before HHS announced that there were no extra stocks of Vaccine.

Currently the County is getting 18,000 doses of vaccine a week. (Although it isn’t clear whether that includes second doses as well.)

I signed up on the waiting list through Kaiser. I have heard of people getting vaccinated through private physicians and the Veteran’s Administration in Clarksburg WVA.

Most of the folks that I have heard have received vaccinations are 75+ and a the VA is reportedly prioritizing pre-existing conditions as well. The county is also prioritizing First Responders, Medical Personnel and Teachers.

I expect to be waiting for a while.
