The whole purpose of scouting in it’s original format was to prepare scouts - recon forces - for the British Army. The BSA has been very similar since day one. Combine that with the modern extremely conservative religious attitudes, homophobia & misogyny? Nothing but a despicable organization. I am sorry for those who loved it but I am so glad my son was never defiled by membership in the BSA.

Keith Richards was a scout leader as a teenager and has said in his autobiography that it prepared him well for leading the Stones!
